The extent to which money and arms have
formed part of the Russian contribution to the Red Cause remains uncertain, though it was undoubtedly large. Questions, of this nature are naturally not discussed in the Press: but the minimum figure accepted as the amount of the Red Debt to Russia is $10,000,000, and it is known that whole Regiments of the Canton army are armed with Russian rifles, and that all the artillery which played such an important part in the Red successes in Kuangtung are of Russian
manufacture.

I venture to direct your attention to an article published in the "Daily Mail" of 19th December 1925 under the heading "Jacob Borodin, Our Relentless Foe in China" by Sir Percival Phillips, who visited the Far East as the papers Special Correspondent to investigate conditions
in China.
